Digital radiography uses an electronic sensor instead of X-ray film to produce an image. This image can be viewed and stored on a computer and is easily shared online with consulting specialists. With digital radiography, less radiation is needed to produce an image. Our modern X-ray equipment provides high-quality radiographs, helping us identify the cause and extent of illness or injury in your pet. 

Digital radiography is also excellent for monitoring the healing progress of a broken bone or after an orthopedic repair. It is also used in our dental program for a thorough evaluation when we suspect a problem or perform routine preventative care.

Ultrasonography is a painless, non-invasive technology that uses ultrasonic waves to capture detailed images within the body.

An ultrasound offers images that can help identify medical conditions which may not be diagnosable by an X-ray.  Ultrasound offers numerous advantages whether used to diagnose a sick patient, assess an emergency situation, monitor a chronic condition, check for pregnancy, or used to obtain samples for laboratory testing.  Often, we can perform an ultrasound the same day which is beneficial in identifying conditions at an early stage, which may lead to more successful treatment outcomes. This is particularly important in the case of cancer and organ diseases.

Our state-of-the-art ultrasound also allows us to send images to a board-certified radiologist for same day diagnostic reports if needed.

Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis, certain types of cancer screening, and parasite testing.  This is beneficial for prompt results and diagnosis. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

Loop 363 Animal Hospital offers our clients the benefit of a tonopen, a tool to measure the fluid pressure inside the eye, which is especially helpful for conditions such as dog glaucoma.

Using a tonopen, our doctors check your pet’s eye pressure during his or her exam.  We use a numbing medication to make this non-invasive and painless.  If your dog or cat has red, irritated eyes, has suffered head or eye trauma, or is being monitored for glaucoma, this is a valuable diagnostic test.

Coordinating with our in-house laboratory, our in-house pharmacy has a wide variety of medications which allows our Loop 363 Veterinarians the ability to prescribe and send necessary medications home at the time of your pet’s visit for convenience and to help start the healing process quickly.
